Michelle spear-headed this trip months ago and I am so glad we were all able to go. Originally it was going to be just Michelle's family and my family and maybe my parents. But since everyone came up to see grandpa they all ended up coming.
Michelle's crew and my family left Sunday afternoon and got there by early evening to set up camp. We had our trailer and Michelle and Nate had a tent site a few minutes away. Once again we loved our new trailer and the comforts it provided!
Monday we walked around the lake after breakfast and explored the area
we were both camping. There isn't any cell reception and it was colder
than we anticipated so we didn't venture into the water. While Bella
napped we took the rest of the kids miniature golfing. They loved it!
Then we drove into Joseph and explored the fun town and all it's shops.
That night we built a fire and roasted hot dogs and smores.
Tuesday we woke up and went on a short but really pretty hike with the kids.
The babies napped and then my parents arrived with Richard, Matt, and April's crew. We got their sites set up and then all headed on a big group hike to some beautiful waterfalls. We thought it was 2ish miles round trip but that was only one way. The kids did fantastic and none of them complained. Only the babies had to be carried. Ayla even said to Cherise "mom I'm not even whining on this hike!". That night everyone fell asleep very fast. :)
Wednesday (July 4th) we ate breakfast and packed up our sites. Mom and Dad paid for us all to go on the tram to the top of the mountain. It was so fun (and a little scary)! We hiked around for several hours and then enjoyed packed lunches and french fries from the cafe on top. The guys had spotted a distant trail and peak and decided they wanted to climb it. An hour or so later they made it back safe and sound. After coming back down the mountain we all headed for Walla Walla. Within 10 minutes of driving all 3 of our girls were asleep. hah
