How we loved the wonderful weather and being with family this year for Christmas in San Fransisco! Emma and I flew out a few days before everyone else to give her and her cousins some time to just play and enjoy each other before the rest of my family arrived. She loves her cousins Books and Ha-ley (she drops the D whenever she says her name, so cute). She and Hadley especially bonded together. We've been home for 5 days and she still constantly is asking for Hadley. It really makes me wish we lived closer so we could have them together all the time. We spent a lot of time going for walks and playing at the park which is something we haven't been able to do at home because it's so cold. I'll blog later about all of Emma's new words and developments but at the airport on our way to SF she started saying "walk". She doesn't want to be in her stroller, she wants to "walk" everywhere.
My parents, Sharia and Pat drove into town Sunday night, Garlan and Spencer flew in Monday night and Richard and Cherise came Christmas (Wednesday) night. We ended up doing Christmas Thursday morning so that we could do it all together. It was crazy but lots of fun. Emma loved opening each present and would exclaim "Yeah!" to each little toy. Because we were traveling we didn't really get her many big fancy gifts but honestly it was the free or dollar store items she loved the most.
It was especially wonderful to talk to Sister April Hadley and Elder Matthew Hadley. They both look so good and are growing so much! I miss them but I'm so happy they are serving the Lord and letting their testimonies grow as they share them with others.
Some of the fun things we did while in SF........
On Tuesday we all went into the city and did the Alcatraz tour and then went to Pier 39 for fish and chips and to see all the seals. The weather was perfect and the kids did really well. Emma fell asleep with her mouth on the stroller and Hadley slept on Spencer's big shoulder.
We did a little shopping pre and post Christmas, went to The Hobbit and had a wonderful lunch with Uncle Larry and cousin Karen in Walnut Creek. We also spent a lot of time at the park so the kids to play and swing and us older kids could play tennis and basketball. Okay I only played a little since my 8 1/2 month pregnant belly slightly gets in the way for a good game.
Here are some pictures to prove the wonderful time we had!
