Fourth of July in Vegas

We had a fabulous Independence weekend with our McCoy families in Vegas. What a treat for us to rest and relax with some of our most favorite people!

Here is the weekend rundown:

Thursday we left after work and drove straight to Brandon and Cori's house. Luckily they are night owls since we didn't get there until 10pm. We talked, played and watched Justin Bieber's life story (even with Garlan and Cannon protesting) until the wee hours of the morning.

Friday we packed up and took the party over to Darek and Amberli's since Brandon's family had to head to New Mexico for some scout camp family thing (lame for us but exciting for them). We played with the kids while Amberli took a little break and had her hair done. We went to Walmart to pick up a few things and to get ice cream cones. Watching Beckett eat is ice cream kept us all laughing. Uncle Garlam (Garlan) and Girl/Manda (me) loved every minute we got playing with our two crazy fun nephews. Friday night Garlan took me to Celine Dion. He had surprised me with tickets for our anniversary back in April and I had been counting down the days since. It was my one and only regret in life - not to see her in concert before she stopped preforming. He remembered me saying that and when she opened her show back up, he bought tickets. It was even more wonderful than what I thought it would be! I'm not too proud to admit that yes, I cried. Her voice takes me to an entirely different world! Thank you Garlan for an amazing night out.

Saturday we spent the first half of the day swimming. It turned out to be about 112 degrees by 11 am so water was the only place you wanted to be. Thanks to our wonderful husbands us girls got to spend the afternoon shopping and talking. I even introduced Amberli to my most favorite drink in the entire world - Pure Chocolate Blended Ice at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. That night we switched and sent the guys to Transformers while we watched Property Hunters, ate rice krispies and talked even more.
Can't get enough of this boy!

Dinner at Red Robin's

Sunday we went to church and then spent the afternoon napping and relaxing. While getting dinner ready a huge downpour and thunder and lightening hit the valley. The boys played in the rain and huge rivers that formed in the streets for over an hour. Amberli and I busted out with our cameras to try and capture the fun and excitement Atticus was feeling. Beckett was enjoying the rain too but at a distance. After the rain let up we ate, watched a movie and played some games.Cuddling with Garlan before church. They did this for about 10 minutes- it was so precious.
Working up the courage to go outside :)

Getting ready to brave the storm with Uncle Garlan!
Darek took this opportunity to water the plants out front.
I love this one cause I actually caught my favorite thing - G twisting and playing with his wedding band!

Garlan's favorite picture of course :)

He wanted to be close to the rain but not out in it!

Photographing the real photographer :)

Monday came way too quickly! The guys slept in while we headed to their ward's July 4th breakfast. We stayed about 30 minutes and then returned home to get the boys and head to another pool. It was a little rainy but about 95 degrees so it didn't bother us. It actually reminded me of being in Hawaii. :) It was super sad to say goodbye but hopefully we will be returning soon. A big thank you to Darek and Amberli for putting us up for so many days and keeping us fed and entertained. We love you guys!
Atticus going down the "big slide" for the very first time. We can all do the hard stuff when we know Dad is there to catch us.
